Boy Scout Troop 242 Gives Copy
of Charter to Council 5480
23 May 2006

Troop 242, based out of
Founder's Hall, has grown to 25 Scouts with 15 Adult Leaders.
During the last two years the Troop has graduated 4 Eagle
Scouts. As a sign of appreciation for the support that
Council 5480 gives their Troop, a number of the Scouts
participate in a ceremony where they give a copy of their

This brother works behind the scenes at

June 2006 Family of the Month:

Lou and Yvonne at their 60th Wedding
Anniversary held earlier this year.
This brother has been active in the Council
and Club since he transferred into the Council a few years back.
He and his wife are active in church and he volunteers
in the other organizations he belongs to. He has chaired various
committees, continues to help out at many events and has always
done a good job. Family of the Month for June is Lou and
Yvonne Stokes Jr.

is Awarded Bowling Trophy by State!

The VA State programs
director, Ron Gorman, was pleased to award Council 5480 a trophy
for their outstanding performance in the 2006 bowling tournament
held in April.

Brother Knight Bill Bundick
built a very nice stand for the trophy where it will be kept
until the 2007 winner is awarded. Come see the trophies
and pictures when you come to the Knight's Den.

Football Pool

By a narrow margin, Ralph selected the
most correct teams to win and had the closest estimate on the
Monday night spread. Congratulations to Ralph!!!

is pleased to announce that he and his wife have an addition to
their family! Their son, Emmett Michael, was born on Saturday,
26 May at 1633 at Langley AFB Hospital. He was 5lbs, 9oz, 19
in. long. Joel says, "It's hard to tell who he looks like
at this point. He definitely has my fat nose!" |

More than 50 Sir Knights,
wives and guests from Assembly 2430 visited Arlington National
Cemetery and participated in a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the
Tomb of the Unknown. |

With 12 Brother Knights in
attendance, Council 5480 conducted a double-elimination cribbage
tournament. The competition was fierce; lasting well into

came to the Hall to celebrate Mother's Day. Council 5480
combined this event with a 'baby shower' for the pregnancy
crisis center. We collected over a truck load of
consumables for newly born children. |

Veterans during their November meeting. Major Bruce Brahe,
USMC from the USS Nassau spoke at the event.
