February 2012 Knight of the Month
This Brother has not been a member for a long time; however, he has been very involved. He takes an active role in many of our Council programs and activities as his schedule permits. He is currently the Chancellor on our First Degree team and has occasionally served as a Guard in the past. He also takes an active role in assisting at Virginia State Council events hosted by our Council. At our last Charity Auction, he demonstrated the true meaning of the Knights principle of charity by offering his private plane and services to the highest bidder for a trip to the Outer Banks. This Brother also takes an active role at his Church, Council and anywhere he is needed without seeking recognition or glory. It is my privilege to announce that the Knight of the Month for February is Jonathan Sargent.
February 2012 Family of the Month
The family for the month of February should have been recognized a long time ago for their combined dedication to Church and Council. They helped out with the Laser Tag event, Halloween Party, Meals on Wheels and the Children’s Christmas Party. The whole family assisted in all of these events. They are friends and mentors to many families, both young and old. The husband is currently the Youth Director for the Council. Their son Steven is a 3rd degree Knight, Eagle Scout and attends Old Dominion University. Their daughter Christina just graduated from Virginia Tech and has earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouts. Daughter Sara is in Governors School, is an alter server at Church and is a Girl Scout. Richard is a Boy Scout, Life rank, Order of the Arrow (Chapter Chief), plays in the Menchville Band and is also an alter server. They are proactive in all the things they do as a family in our Parish and the community. Here is a family we all want on our committees. Please congratulate with me James, Karen, Steven, Christina, Sara, and Richard Kazmer, Family of the Month for February.

December 2011 Knight of the Month
This Knight of the Month is one of the mainstays of our Council and is always around when you need him. He rarely misses a meeting and is a regular Bingo volunteer, putting out the bags and ash trays for all of the Bingo nights. This Brother recently reached out to our community for support of one of our fund raising activities planned for this fraternal year. He planned, organized and executed our Charity Auction last month which included wine and cheese tasting along with a dinner. The event was a huge success bringing in more than four thousand dollars for charity. He continues working in any way he can to help the Council. Please join me in congratulating Past Grand Knight and Past Club President George Hart as your Knight of the Month for December 2011.
December 2011 Family of the Month
This month, we recognize two families who have shown exceptional service to their churches, schools, and the Knights of Columbus Youth Events. They were instrumental in the planning and implementation of the Laser Tag Event and also the Halloween Carnival. Both families have supported Bingo and helped with the organization of youth events for their churches. They assist in events for St Mary’s by the Sea, and OLMC. Spending countless hours coming up with games, food and concessions for the Laser Tag event, they also are made handmade trophies for the Halloween Carnival and have shopped for prizes with a limited budget. They also assist in running the games and defraying costs by coming up with raffles for these events. Without these two families, the youth events for this year would not be as organized and fun. We are extremely privileged to have Mark and Terri Rieg along with Ray and Jane Novey as our families of the month for December.
